Pool Villas
The exquisite Pool Villas are the crown jewels of Shangri-La’s offering. Located next to the Amphitheatre, these modern blockhouse rooms boast not only a spacious bedroom with two single beds (setup as a king), white Percale linen and an en suite bathroom with shower, but also a cozy living space. Each room features a private splash pool with a wooden deck and stunning views of the valley. The air-conditioned bedrooms have a SmartTV with Netflix/ShowMax, tea/coffee making facilities and a bar fridge.

BLANKET
An extra blanket is available to you during your stay. Please contact reception, who will be happy to arrange for delivery of the blanket to your room.
ELECTRICAL SUPPLY
The electricity supply is 240V. We recommend guests bring along any 2-point plug adapters and USB-chargers.
LAUNDRY SERVICE
Laundry services are offered at an additional cost. Regrettably irons are not available in rooms.
ROOM SERVICE
Room service is available. Note that a tray charge applies.
SAFE
All rooms have an electronic safe.
SMOKING
All our rooms are non-smoking. Guests are allowed to smoke in designated smoking areas.
TEA / COFFEE STATION
For your convenience a tea and coffee station is in all rooms with a choice of tea and coffee, milk and sugar. Additional tea and coffee is available for purchase from the restaurant.
TELEVISION
All rooms boast a flat-screen SmartTV with a complimentary Netflix, ShowMax and YouTube. Take note that DSTV is not available but guests who have their own DSTV accounts are welcome to log in using the SmartTV streaming service.
TOILETRIES
We offer a liquid body wash and shampoo, as well as a body lotion. Regrettably we do not provide bars of soap. All bottled amenities are available to purchase at R150 per bottle. Please enquire with reception.
WI-FI
Free wireless internet is available to guests. For assistance, please contact reception.

ARE ALL YOUR ROOMS THE SAME?
The Pool Villas are near identical but each room has its own colour scheme. The images shown online are representative of both bedrooms but some features may be slightly different. If you have any specific room requests, i.e. a photograph you have seen that you wish to stay in, please contact us. (Subject to availability.)
CAN I CHECK IN EARLIER / CHECK OUT LATER?
Check in is from 2pm to 10pm. While we appreciate that our guests may have earlier commitments elsewhere, we\’re unable to accommodate early arrivals and we ask guests to make alternate travel arrangements.. Check out is between 6am and 10am. Late check-outs must be arranged in advance and is subject to availability; a late check out fee will apply. Checking out prior to our office hours should also be arranged in advance with our front desk.
CAN MY CHILDREN SHARE THE ROOM WITH US?
Rooms that have a 2 occupancy limit is not suitable for parents who travel with children. Shangri-La offers two types of family rooms, one suitable for 3 guests (Standard Family Room), the other suitable for 4 guests (Executive Family Room or Family Balcony Suite). While infants under 2 years are more than welcome to share the bed with parents who travel as a couple, note that cribs / cots are not available at Shangri-La and we recommend that parents bring this along. Please notify us upfront if you are travelling with infants.
Additionally, should families book separate bedrooms for parents and children, we invite guests to inform us of this as a matter of urgency. Not all bedrooms are located in the same vicinity and Shangri-La will do its best to place the rooms as close as possible. This may not always be possible and is subject to availability.
CAN I BRING ALONG MY OWN FOOD & BEVERAGES?
Shangri-La is not a self-catering venue and we kindly request that guests do not bring food with them. Our bedrooms do not offer cooking facilities or microwaves, but all rooms at Shangri-La does offer a bar fridge. There are no braai facilities available. You are however welcome to bring along snacks such as crisps, sweets or biscuits to enjoy in the comfort of your room.
We are a fully licensed premise and consequently guests may not bring their own beverages or cooler boxes for use in our public areas. Take note that ice is only available for drinks and beverages purchased in our bar. We value your cooperation in this regard.
WHERE IS MY ROOM LOCATED?
The Pool Villas are situated on the upper level to the far right of the main building, past Chimes Square and next door to the Amphitheatre. We urge guests to check with us upfront if they require rooms to be close together as the Pool Villas are fairly secluded and the closest rooms are two of the Superior Twin Rooms.
Shangri-La has several staircases and steep pathways leading to and from the main building. We do offer parking near the Pool Villas at the back of the property. Guests of the Pool Villas will be directed to the parking area upon checking in or are welcome to call ahead for directions to the parking space on arrival.
